we are Yoga & Then some
We teach yoga that supports incarcerated participants
as they explore union of
body, mind, breath, and spirit
on and off the mat
Practitioners say
they relieve stress, find calm,
grow their flexibility,
strength, creativity, community
—and then some!
Meditation and other
mindfulness practices are also explored
Currently ten yoga teachers offer
five weekly classes
in four living units at the
Denver Women’s Correctional Facility
In addition, one class was recently added
for men in the
Denver Regional Diagnostic Center
Our program is small but mighty!
Our program started some 15 years ago
with just one weekly class
Now more participants are coming to our classes,
and corrections officials are
encouraging us to expand our program
To offer more yoga to more
incarcerated women and men,
we need more volunteer teachers!

If you’re a certified or registered yoga teacher,
we invite you to visit our classes
to see if you are a good fit to volunteer
in the women’s or men’s facility
Our team is curated from the talent of
volunteers across the state
We focus on bringing mindful movement practices
into Colorado prisons,
working together to make great things happen!
Thank you for your interest in supporting a different kind of freedom
—behind bars and beyond!
